59yo Woman Registers For Miss Vietnam 2020 Pageant

This 59-year-old woman has registered to compete at Miss Vietnam 2020.

Organisers of the beauty pageant said they were surprised to see the application from Tran Bich Nga, whose 59 years is somewhat older than the regulated age of between 18 and 27.

However, despite turning down her application because of the age ruling, the organisers said that Nga’s confidence serves as “motivation” for younger participants.

The organising board thanked Nga for her interest in the event and said she is a good role model for the other pageant hopefuls.

A spokesperson said: “Nga’s registration will surely become the motivation for young people to become more courageous and confident. We expect to continue receiving your care for the contest. We wish you good health and successes.”

Despite being deemed too old to take part in Miss Vietnam, many netizens admired Nga’s beauty at nearly 60 years of age.

The woman, who was born in 1961 and lives in the capital Hanoi, sent in several snaps of her posing in a swimsuit.

This year’s event will see a number of sub-titles included for the first time including Miss Sea, Miss Fashion, and Miss Talent.

The pageant was scheduled to take place between May and August, like previous years, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a result, this year’s competition will take place in October.
