Three people have tragically died in a head-on car smash before firefighters cutting the bodies out of the two Ladas found a crocodile, a python and a rabbit which had all incredibly survived.
The incident took place near the village of Minkovo in the district of Babushkinsky located in the north-western Russian region of Vologda Oblast when two Ladas were involved in a head-on collision.
According to local media, the 48-year-old driver of a Lada Riva was killed when his vehicle ended up on its roof in a roadside ditch while the 39-year-old owner of a Lada Largus and his 52-year-old female passenger both died in the accident also.
When the emergency services arrived on the scene, they had difficulty retrieving the bodies of the three victims and needed to use hydraulic cutters on the two Ladas.
However, firefighters were stunned when the tail of a crocodile started swishing and the head of a python appeared among the mangled metal.
Incredibly, the two large reptiles were accompanied by a hedgehog, a rabbit and a guinea pig that had also survived the horror crash.
The emergency services took the menagerie to a nearby animal shelter for veterinary checks.
Meanwhile, the local authorities are currently trying to establish the events leading up to the head-on collision.
The investigation continues.
