The bathtub had been left untouched in the bathroom for several days.

Wooden bathtubs, known for their rustic charm and natural appeal, as it seems can provide an ideal environment for fungi growth under certain conditions.

Wood, being an organic material, can absorb moisture over time, creating a damp and humid environment conducive to the growth of fungi.

This, coupled with the absence of regular use, may have contributed to the flourishing of the fungi within Ms Peng’s bathtub.

The video was posted by Ms Peng on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, where it attracted widespread attention from users who gave humorous remarks.

A user titled ‘Mawangwang’ commented: ” Eat it,” to which Ms Peng replied: “Already fried and eaten.”
