Russia Launches Perfume With Scents Of Metals And Leather Used In New Fighter Jet

Russia has launched a perfume that captures the scents of metals and leather used in a newly-presented fighter jet.

The state-owned company Rostec (State Corporation for the Promotion of the Development, Manufacture, and Export of High Tech Products) joined forces with the Guild of Perfumers of Russia to launch the perfume.

The fragrance is based on the under-development fighter jet, the Sukhoi Su-75 Checkmate, scheduled for its maiden flight next year.

A prototype of the deadly new fifth-generation jet was launched at the 2021 Dubai Airshow on Tuesday, 16th November.

The Checkmate perfume, with its 50ml bottle shaped like the black knight in chess, was produced specifically for the global launch of Russia’s stealth fighter jet, according to Rostec.

The Russian company said in a statement: “The fragrance combines the scents of glass, natural leather, and metals used in the construction of the aircraft’s fuselage, engines, and cockpit.

“The five main notes of the compositions have been brought together by the technicolor accord of the perfume.”

Rostec said the new perfume also includes hints of oakmoss, patchouli, and juniper, adding that it “underlines the aircraft’s reliability and modernity, as well as its willingness to work in all conditions”.

The Checkmate jet boasts a short takeoff and therefore does not require a long runway. It can also operate in nearly every type of weather condition and hold a wide arsenal of weapons.

The Su-75 Checkmate can also reach speeds of around Mach 1.8 (1,381 mph).
