The 10 people, including a restaurant staff member sweeping the floor nearby, run from their tables for the safety of the road ahead.
According to China’s Ministry of Emergency Management, the earthquake was short-lived, and no deaths or injuries have been reported thus far.
Its epicentre was recorded in Yongsheng County at a depth of 10,000 metres, the China Earthquake Networks Center said.
Officials said the earthquake caused five trains to be delayed between the city of Lijiang and provincial capital Kunming.
They were still assessing the damage caused at the time of writing.
