Primate Makes A Monkey Of Office Workers As It Apes Their Computer Skills

Monkey breaks into a railway office and sits down at a computer as if it is hard at work.

The gray langur monkey is seen squatting on a manager’s chair as it apparently types at the keyboard at the West Bengal’s Railway Station Enquiry Office in eastern India.

And as it peers deeply into the screen, even the laughs of officer workers, who would normally drive it off, do not seem to disturb it.

In the video, one person can be heard saying: “Enquiry specialist performing his duty.”

Another, though, is worried and can be heard saying: “How will I remove the monkey? What if it slaps?”

Langurs are regular raiders of human settlements, usually scavenging for food.

But this monkey seems to have learned its business from aping the office workers it would have seen through the windows, reports local media.

Grey langurs, also known as Hanuman langurs or Hanuman monkeys, are Old World monkeys native to the Indian subcontinent.

They are known for their intelligence and agility, and like many other animals, they are considered sacred in India.
