Pit bull owner discovers her dog could definitely do with some extra training after she finds it eating her sofa.
The phone footage, shot at a family home in the city of Florianopolis, in the state of Santa Catarina, in Brazil, shows the dog caught in the act as it attacks the couch.
In the clip, the sofa has been ripped apart down to its bare wooden frame with fabric and foam scattered everywhere in the apartment.
And as the owner calls out to the dog it turns around with a piece of fabric still dangling from its powerful jaws.
The dog looks sheepishly over its shoulder as the owner calls out to it saying: “Can I know what’s going on? “
As the dog trots off nonchalantly still chewing a piece of fabric, she adds: “There’s no point in pretending. My God in heaven.”
The footage first emerged on social media in the summer but has since clocked up nearly 30 million views on TikTok.
The frustrated owner captioned the video: “As if going for a one-hour walk twice a day isn’t enough, it still has the energy to eat the sofa.”
Experts say dogs usually chew furniture because they’re bored because they haven’t had enough play and exercise.
Owners are advised to buy them chewing toys and reward them by making a fuss of them when they play with them.
