Moment Egg-Sized Hailstones Fall As Storm Hits Romania

This is the moment egg-sized hailstones fall in a resident’s garden as a severe storm wreaked havoc in Romania.

The incident was filmed in the commune of Dragoiesti in the northern Romanian county of Suceava, and the footage was later widely shared on Facebook.

In the video, the resident’s driveway appears waterlogged with dozens of white objects scattered around.

The camera pans to a parked car which has a rug on the windscreen to apparently protect the glass from the white objects bouncing off the bodywork.

Meanwhile, the resident bends down to pick up one of the fallen hailstones near his feet which he holds to the camera.

In his palm, the hailstone seems as big as an egg.

Moments later he picks up another one which is even larger.

According to local media, a hailstorm that lasted between 15 and 20 minutes hit several regions in Romania on 10th June, causing significant damage.

Hailstones the size of eggs fell during the summer storm although no one was reported as injured, according to reports.

One Facebook user said: “I think it destroyed everywhere it fell. God, please protect us.”
