This is the moment Spanish Civil Guard officers raid a luxury property in Ibiza during COVID-19 lockdown and discover 19 foreign residents including Brits holding a private party.
The incident took place in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia in Ibiza in the Spanish Balearic Islands and one person has been arrested while 18 others have been reported, according to local media.
The Civil Guard were called about an outdoor party taking place on Sunday 26th April and officers arrived at the property and found a poster announcing the event at the entrance.
The party reportedly boasted a catering service and DJ, hired to lift the mood and cheer up the non-Spanish guests.
Police officers found the guests spread out across the plush property, with some groups mingling inside and others outside by the swimming pool.
The video shows a police officer asking the guests in English “do you know the situation in Spain?”, referencing the country’s strict lockdown measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All the foreign guests have been identified and they all reside on the Spanish island. Among them were British, French and Italian citizens, according to reports.
The party organiser was arrested for disobedience and the guests were reported for taking part in the unauthorised event.
According to the latest figures from the Johns Hopkins University, Spain has registered 229,422 cases of COVID-19 and 23,521 related deaths.
