Lumberjacks working in a forest owned by a monastery have found a tree with a ‘cross’ in the middle of the trunk which some believers have claimed is a “miracle”.
The discovery was made while Novica and Ljubica Cuckic from Shilovo near the town of Gjilan in Kosovo were chopping down trees for firewood in a forest owned by a monastery.
They found a tree with a cross in the centre of its trunk and Nikola Mitic, who works as a psychologist at a local school, took photos of the interesting occurrence.
Mitic told local media: “The photo was taken two days ago, in the monastery forest. This is not the first case of such an unusual scene.”
Local media report some residents consider the cross a “miracle” with one Facebook page writing: “God often reminds us that He is with us and calls us to unite with Him.”
Netizen ‘Gordana Goca Kovac’ wrote: “Glory to the Lord!
And ‘Zoran Vera Stojanovic’ added: “God is always with us, you just have to believe! Amen.”
While ‘Dejana Vasojevic Milenkovic’ wrote: “So far I have not seen a more beautiful sign from God.”
It is unclear how the cross was formed.
