A delighted homeowner filmed their pet Shiba Inu helping out with the cleaning by lifting up its dog bed so the owner can vacuum the floor underneath.
Phone footage shows the diligent dark-coloured pooch grabbing one end of the small bed laid out on the floor at the home in Sichuan, a south-western Chinese province known as the home of the giant pandas, and moving it out of the way with its mouth.
Then, it lifted up the opposite end and even moved its toy carrot out of the way as its owner vacuumed the wooden floor, apparently to help ensure the space would be cleaned spotlessly.
The owner shared the clip on Douyin, China’s TikTok, on 20th April, proudly adding: “My baby has grown up, I am so happy…”
Online commentators like ‘Pee Ka Boo’ said: “This dog is so good.”
And user ‘Xiaojing’ said: “She is more discerning than my husband and knows what it means to have eyes.”
While the user ‘Its Xiao Lier’ said: “Smart dog.”
The Shiba Inu is a small to medium-sized dog breed originating from Japan.
Known for its fox-like appearance, distinctive curled tail, and alert, expressive eyes, the Shiba Inu is characterised by its spirited and independent nature.
Despite their small size, they are confident and affectionate with their families and are relatively low maintenance in terms of grooming.
They are also incredibly popular in cryptocurrency, where their images are used on several coins that have attracted vast sums of money.
