Easter Bunny Seen Running Down Empty Alpine Motorway

This Easter bunny took advantage of the lack of traffic on a normally busy Austrian motorway to go for a run.

He was filmed by workers of Austria’s Asfinag motorway management corporation which plans, finances, builds, maintains and collects tolls for the Austrian autobahns.

The footage was shot on the normally busy A1 motorway that goes between Vienna in the east of the country, and the sound of music city Salzburg on the border with Germany. The two Asfinag staff members Michael Huber and Peter Ramsauer said they could not believe their eyes when they spotted the animal, believed to be a hare, running along the stretch on the A1 between Thalgau and Mondsee.

They said that the Easter bunny was heading towards the capital Vienna, and they switched on their flashing orange light and followed it in the event of another motorist heading down the road to warn them of the possible obstruction.

They said that they waited until the bunny had got bored of the motorway dash, and ran off the road before carrying on their way.
