Cherry Trees Blossom Next To Forest Devastated By Fire As Mountain’s Nature Slowly Heals

A mountain ravaged by recent wildfires experiencing a rebirth with the arrival of spring as thousands of cherry trees bloomed among the ashes.

Breath-taking aerial images show one side of the mountain ridge in Anshun, in China’s south-western Guizhou Province, covered in cherry blossoms in full bloom.

On the other side, a scene of utter devastation, tender buds are now slowly sprouting, bringing new life to the land scorched by the fire.

The revitalisation of the area captivated netizens on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, as well as locals who had witnessed the destructive force of the fire.

A user titled ‘Zoe’ said: “The world is really beautiful.”

And ‘Tianya Hongchenke’ wrote: “Nature has the ability to heal itself, and it will be full of vitality again in a year!”

The person who posted the videos on 28th and 29th March said himself: “The land scorched by the mountain fire is now being healed by spring.

“It’s my first time seeing mountain forests burnt by wildfires. The ground is covered in deep ash from the burnt grass and trees.

“Stepping on it, my shoes sink slowly into the ground. The forest, once ablaze, now appears lifeless, with only a few charred branches remaining.

“But under the healing touch of spring, tender shoots are breaking through the soil.

“From an aerial perspective, along the ridges, one side is already adorned with vibrant cherry blossoms. While the other side is also experiencing a rebirth.

“Spring is truly beautiful!!”

China Cuts Blossoming Trees To Deter Tourists

Another, shocking clip of the February wildfire that destroyed the mountain’s forests reveals the entire mountainside engulfed in flames, almost like the scene of a volcanic eruption.

The Anshun Forestry Bureau said back in February that the incident required all available firefighting units to tackle the blaze.

It reminded all citizens that starting fires in or around the forest is strictly prohibited and punishable by the Criminal Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Forest Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Forest Fire Prevention Regulations, and the Guizhou Forest Fire Prevention Regulations.
