British Woman Raped By French Tourist On Magaluf Beach

Spanish cops have arrested a French tourist for raping a British woman and threatening to suffocate her if she stopped having sex with him on a Magaluf beach.

The suspect, a French tourist born in 1997, was staying with a group of friends in the same hotel where the alleged victim was staying.

Local newspaper Ultima Hora report that the alleged victim was celebrating her friend’s birthday in the hotel room when they heard music in a nearby room and decided to join.

The group of British women began talking and drinking with the French tourists in the hotel room and after a short while, at around 1 am on Thursday, they went to a popular bar near Magaluf beach.

The suspect, whose name and age has not been revealed, asked the alleged victim to go to the beach where they kissed and had consensual sex. At one point the young man, whose name has not been revealed, reportedly pulled out his mobile phone and began recording the encounter through Snapchat.

The British woman reprimanded him and asked him to stop recording her.

It was then that the French man allegedly forced himself on her and threatened her. He said that if she refused to continue having sex he would suffocate her, according to local media.

The British woman later reported the case to the Spanish Civil Guard. The alleged victim pointed out the suspect after a picture was shown to her by the officers and he was arrested shortly afterwards.

The young man claimed that the sex was consensual and denied recording her, claiming he only switched on the phone’s torch.

A Spanish Civil Guard spokesman told Central European News (CEN) the man was arrested and charged with “sexual aggression with penetration”.

Police seized the phone for investigations

The victim was taken to the Son Espases hospital where a forensic doctor carried out an examination to confirm if she had injuries linked with rape.

The Spanish Civil Guard are now investigating the case.
