Bleeding Wild Boar Runs Through Busy Tube Station

This is the moment a bleeding wild boar runs through a busy underground station leaving a trail of blood before it is cornered by police near an escalator.

The scenes were recorded by onlookers at an MTR station in the Kennedy Town area on the north-western end of Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong after the injured boar ran into the station.

In the video, the boar can be seen scampering through the station, struggling to keep its footing on the slippery floor as it runs past stunned commuters.

Local media report the boar is believed to have been hurt before it went into the station and the animal was then cornered by the police near a lift.

The boar has left a trail of blood where it was standing and reports state the police gave the animal an apple before agents from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department shot it with a tranquilliser dart, according to local media.

Numerous cops were needed to secure the area

The boar was then put in a cage and taken away from the scene. The local Wild Boar Concern Group wrote on social media that the animal had injured its rear hooves and it had now been transferred to the New Territories North Animal Management Centre where it will undergo further tests.

Some reports suggest one woman was taken to Queen Mary Hospital after the boar lightly injured her leg in the station. She has not been named in reports.
