Biker Mauled By Angry Tiger After Crashing Into It On Forest Road

A biker had an incredible escape after he crashed his bike into a tiger that suddenly leapt out of the bushes on a forest road at night.

Muhammad Zulhilmi Mokhtar, 26, was riding his motorbike when a tiger suddenly appeared on the road and crashed into the bike’s front tyre in Gua Musang, Kelantan, Malaysia at 9:30 pm on Monday, 13th November.

Muhammad told local media: “The incident happened as I rode toward Sungai Terah to play badminton. It was a dark and hilly road with no streetlights.

“Suddenly, I saw the tiger before it knocked down my motorcycle.

“After falling off my motorbike, I got up and ran as fast as possible for some 100m [328 feet] to get help from other road users. I also turned on my mobile phone light.”

He told local media he suffered injuries on his right eyebrow and his left leg.

Muhammad said that a driver who was passing by saved him.

“I am not sure if the tiger was attacking me or was simply crossing the road because the location is in a forested area.”

Kelantan Wildlife and National Parks Department director Mohamad Hafid Rohani told local media they have been notified of the incident.

He said: “We have been to the incident scene and are still investigating the crash.

“The traces of fur on the victim’s motorcycle have been sent to the laboratory to confirm if the animal involved was indeed a tiger.”
