A proud grandad has turned himself in after foolishly posting a video showing his ‘talented’ eight-year-old grandson driving a car alone with the only other person in the vehicle being a second child.
The video became widely shared online and caught the attention of authorities in Shenzhen City in China’s southern Guangdong Province, who took to social media to track down the owner and ask: “How old is this kid?”

The clip shows the proud grandad watching from the sidelines as his young grandson speeds around a countryside road in his saloon car.
The boy, who is barely able to see over the steering wheel and appears to have trouble turning it too, carries the young passenger in the front passenger seat next to him.
Both appear to be enjoying the experience, and the grandad barks instructions while teaching the schoolboy how to drive properly.
The mystery surrounding the driving minor was cracked two days later, when traffic police in the city of Zhangjiang, also in Guangdong, announced the grandad, surnamed Liao, had turned himself.
He confessed to letting his grandson drive with the other child in the car for two minutes, the authorities said.
And now he has been fined 1,500 RMB (171 GBP) and had his driving licence revoked for his troubles.
