15yo Girl Who Killed 3yo Bro Jailed For 7 Years

The 15-year-old girl who stabbed her three-year-old half-brother 28 times and used his blood to write a message to her mother on the wall has been jailed for seven and a half years.

A judge sentenced the girl, identified only by her first name Oliwia, to seven years and six months in youth custody for the killing of her younger brother Niko, 3. Passing judgement, the court said that they had not given the teenager the maximum 10 years because she had freely admitted what she did.

She had been left alone to look after him after her mother and grandmother had to leave to go to their jobs as cleaners. She had reportedly resented the fact that she was increasingly being asked to look after her three-year old sibling, and jealousy had turned to hatred.

The teenager who was a fan of horror movies and games reportedly used the blood of the dead little boy to write a message on the wall to her mother saying: “I did it because I hate him.”

The attack was so violent, it left bloodstains on the wall of the house in which the two children lived with their single mother. The family were originally from the Polish city of Lodz and had moved to Detmold in Germany in 2013.

When the mother identified as Agnieszka P., 46, arrived home, the boy was dead, and the teenage girl had vanished.

The mother had been in psychiatric care since the tragedy, but had to give up because she had to go back to work as she did not have any money.

The ex-boyfriend of the mother, identified as Dimitri L., said: “Agnieszka and I had separated three months before, Oliwia was jealous of the little one, and felt left out.”

Police started a search immediately after the killing including a helicopter search and then later released a picture of her, resulting in her being found some 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) from the scene of the killing. A police officer arrested her, saying that she showed no sign of resistance and appeared calm.

After she was arrested she has been in investigative custody awaiting trial.
