This is the moment a young rodeo rider is seriously injured after he was thrown from a bull, dragged across the ground, trampled and repeatedly gored.

The incident happened during a rodeo held as part of festivities in honour of the Holy Cross in Santa Maria Yalina, a town in Oaxaca, southern Mexico, on 3rd May.
Footage shows the bull tied by a rope to a metal fence as the animal is prepared for the ride.

The young rider then climbs along the railings and drops onto the bull’s back.
Seconds later, the bull is released and immediately begins bucking wildly as it tries to throw him off.

The rider manages to stay on for only a short time before losing control and falling to the ground.
But he remains trapped by the ropes and is violently dragged around the arena as the bull continues thrashing.
The animal can then be seen trampling him and goring him repeatedly while people nearby struggle to get close enough to help.
After several terrifying seconds, rescuers finally manage to free the injured rider.
He was rushed to hospital, where he reportedly remains in a critical condition.

The footage was later shared on social media, where the incident sparked debate over the safety of rodeo events for riders and animals.
