This is the shocking moment a woman walking along a busy street is struck from behind by a passing tram and sent crashing to the ground.

CCTV shows the incident on Ebussuud Street in the Sirkeci quarter of the Fatih district, in the Turkish city of Istanbul, on 28th July.
The clip shows her on the carriageway with her back to the oncoming vehicle, apparently unaware of it until the moment of impact, as people nearby turn and hurry over.
She was left with a head injury but declined to go to hospital. It happened at around 8.30pm in one of the city’s busiest historic and tourist quarters.

Traders on the street said accidents of this kind had become more frequent and claimed drivers were paying no attention to a request from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) to slow down.
Gokhan Fermanzade, who works at a business in the area, said: “The tram drivers go fast.
“There needs to be a set speed limit.
“Despite our complaints, unfortunately the drivers still come through quickly.
“It is a crowded, touristic area.
“Children come down here, there are people with pushchairs.
“The drivers need to be more understanding about this.
“When the tram comes fast, people panic.
“If attention is paid to the speed limit, it will definitely be better.”
Ismail Izlek, a member of staff at another business, said: “The area between Gulhane and the Sirkeci tram line is narrow.
“As far as we can see, the trams are always moving quickly.
“Our request to them is that our tram driver colleagues reduce their speed a little more.
“As traders, so that we can welcome our own guests and go about our business, we want the drivers to be considerate about driving carefully.”
