Woman Cant Close Eyes After Botched Plastic Surgery Op

Meet the woman who can no longer close her eyes after surgeons tried to fix a botched plastic surgery op on her eyelids but instead made matters even worse.

Cao Xiaoning, 38, sought out plastic surgeons at the ‘Beauty Key’ clinic in her native Xi’an, capital of north-western China’s Shaanxi Province, and was referred to a private clinic for the blepharoplasty.

In September last year, Ms Cao, who was unhappy with her thin eyelids, paid 5,000 RMB (564 GBP) for the procedure and was immediately dissatisfied after she was left with uneven eyes.

“My eyes were asymmetrical and very wide,” according to Ms Cao, who took her case to the local health bureau in Xi’an’s Yanta District and began a six-month civil suit the next month.

Officials ruled that the private clinic to which Ms Cao was referred was unlicensed, and Beauty Key offered her corrective surgery free of charge.

The operation took place on 12th April – but Ms Cao was left horrified when she found she could no longer close her eyes.

She said: “I can’t sleep properly. I had to live ugly for six months waiting for them to fix it, but they botched that up, too.”

Ms Cao says she is afraid to look in the mirror and refuses to take off her sunglasses whether day or night for fear of scaring others.

As a result of her being unable to fully shut her eyes, Ms Cao has been suffering from conjunctivitis amongst other conditions.

She has brought the new allegations back to the local health authority, which is expected to accept her case.

Beauty Key has so far not announced any plans to compensate Ms Cao for their latest blunder.
