Terrified Mushroom Picker Escapes Mother Bear And Cubs

This is the flee bears moment a terrified man perches silently in a tree as a mother bruin and her three cubs prowl the path below.

The man had been gathering mushrooms in a forest in Kamchatka, eastern Russia, on 24th July when he heard the bear family crashing through the undergrowth.

With no way out he dropped his backpack and scrambled up the nearest tree where he kept as quiet as possible, too scared to even move a muscle.

His extraordinary video footage of the encounter shows the mother Kamchatka brown bear cautiously inspecting the way ahead with her cubs following behind.

She was apparently already on alert after picking up his scent and was on alert for any confrontation that might threaten her cubs.

One cub, though, did not see what all the fuss was about and made a bee-line for the picker’s backpack before trotting off to join mum.

The relieved picker, not named in local media, later scrambled down and escaped.

The Kamchatka brown bear (Ursus arctos beringianus) is one of the largest subspecies of brown bear, native to the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia.
