Tennis Player Lands Coin In Fork Slot With Golf Putt

This is the moment the world’s 26th best tennis player tries his hand at golf while quarantining and putts a coin across the room and straight into the slot of a fork in a feat that took him “three days”.

Spanish-Australian ATP star Alex de Minaur, 21, posted the video to his 194,000 followers showing his golf skills.

The video shows the moment de Minaur, who represents Australia, stands in his putting position as a fork can be seen lying on the floor directly in front of the camera several feet away from him.

The 21-year-old putts the coin which comes into the view of the camera as it rolls on its rim in a straight line towards the cutlery.

De Minaur anxiously watches the coin rolling towards the fork as it perfectly slits through its slots – the space between the prongs, or tines.

The tennis player yells in celebration and raises his arms before walking towards the camera as the video comes to an end.

He captioned the video: “3 days later!! This took way too long please don’t let this flop. I would like to thank all of those who believed in me.” (sic)

He is apparently trying to start a new online challenge.

Several athletes have taken to social media to start online challenges as most countries remain in lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic forcing people to stay in their homes.

De Minaur is 26th in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings and reached his highest ranking in October of 2019 at number 18.

He has yet to win a grand slam but has three career titles, winning his latest one at the Zhuhai Championships held in the Chinese province of Guangdong in September of last year.

According to the latest figures from Johns Hopkins University, there have been 180,659 cases and 18,812 deaths in Spain where the tennis player resides.
