Syrian Dad Teaches 3yo To Laugh As Airstrikes Rain Down

This is the heartbreaking moment a Syrian dad teaches his three-year-old daughter to laugh as regime jets and bombs fall around them.

Abdullah Mohammed, 32, who is currently displaced in the town of Sarmada in Idlib province which is one of the last rebel bastions in the country’s north-west.

According to local media, the area is currently being attacked by the Syrian army with the help of the Iranians and Russian bomber jets in a bid to re-take control of the region.

In recent weeks, many have been killed while 900,000 have fled the province in the hope of finding safety.

In the clip, the dad can be heard asking his daughter, Salwa: “Is this a jet or a bomb?”

The brave youngster responds: “A bomb … When it comes we will laugh.”

According to local media, the news comes after Mohammed created a game in a bid to distract the youngster from the reality of the horror situation around her.

Speaking to TV reporters he said: “She is a child who does not understand war.

“I decided to teach Salwa this game to prevent her psychological state from collapsing. So as to not be affected by diseases relating to fear.”

Mohammed and his family, like many Syrians who fled from elsewhere in the country to escape similar airstrikes in his hometown of Saraqib in northwestern Syria.

Around three million are now in Idlib with an ever-decreasing number of safe spaces left to flee amid the airstrikes.

The UN has called for the Al-Assad regime to open humanitarian corridors to allow them to escape.
