A pretty video blogger who underwent plastic surgery to improve her looks and gain more viewers has killed herself after the operation went wrong and she lost her boyfriend and her followers.
According to local media, the young vlogger (video blogger) killed herself in the eastern Chinese province of Anhui after a number of failed surgeries on her face.
It was not the first attempt at suicide by the young woman, identified by her surname Liu. Reports said that firefighters had rescued her from the 18th floor of a building the day before her death, as seen in the footage.
In the clip, the woman is reportedly heard saying that she did not want any of the rescuers to see her face.
Pictures from her vlog show Liu was an attractive woman with a good income before she decided to undergo plastic surgery in an attempt to attract more online followers.
After the last botched procedure, she felt she had been left so deformed she refused to leave her home and her boyfriend left her, according to local media.
Cosmetic surgery is booming in China in recent years, as incomes rise and young netizens take to social media to show off their good looks.
Correspondingly, vlogging has gained enormous popularity and many Chinese netizens are taking to social media to make a name for themselves.
It is unclear whether the local authorities are investigating the young woman’s death.
