The footage shows the tabby sitting calmly inside its carrier before staff prepare to remove it at Zeytin Veterinary Clinic in Orhangazi, Bursa Province, in north-western Turkey, on 22nd July.
As soon as the carrier door is opened, the veterinary technician tries to hold the cat back, but the powerful feline struggles free and suddenly bolts across the treatment room, leaping from surface to surface as stunned veterinarian Talat Ergun and the technician scramble to catch it.

The cat suddenly springs several feet into the air, clambers onto a ceiling light fitting and dislodges it, leaving the treatment room without light.
Veterinary workers chase after the runaway feline as it bounces off walls, jumps onto high shelves and refuses to be caught.

The extraordinary scenes, captured on the clinic’s security cameras, ended without anyone suffering serious injuries.
The stray cat had been brought to the clinic for a routine sterilisation operation after being rescued from the streets.

Veterinary technician Gozde Genc said the incident was unlike anything she had experienced.
She said: “I had the shock of my life. I’d never seen anything like it. It honestly felt like there was an earthquake.”
Veterinarian Talat said the cat’s acrobatics had left even experienced staff astonished.
He said: “I’ve been in this profession for seven years and I’ve never seen anything like this before. It dived headfirst and ended up in the light.”
Clinic staff later joked that the cat had created “an earthquake effect” inside the surgery.
They said the tabby had initially appeared calm and cooperative before suddenly becoming highly agitated after being removed from its carrier.
Despite the commotion, the cat was eventually brought under control and its sterilisation procedure was completed without complications.
The footage quickly spread across social media in Turkey, where thousands of viewers reacted to the cat’s astonishing escape attempt.
Veterinarians said stray animals can experience extreme stress in unfamiliar environments and may react with sudden defensive behaviour, making careful handling essential for both the animals and clinic staff.
