Stowaway Bird Hatchling Rescued From Jet’s Tail By Technicians

These images show a stowaway bird hatchling that was rescued from the tail of a jet aircraft by technicians.

The baby bird, reportedly no bigger than a human thumb, was reportedly rescued at Lanseria International Airport, near Johannesburg, in South Africa.

The tiny bird handed over to the Owl Rescue Centre in Hartbeespoort, which said in a statement on 23rd January: “A couple of days ago we rescued a tiny little baby bird from the tail of a Jet plane at ExecuJet Lanseria. We named him Jet, and we’re still not sure what he is yet, but as the days go by and he grows bigger, we’ll eventually figure the mystery out.

“We then tagged ExecuJet in a post, just for fun, as we sometimes do. This was their response below.

“Our Commitment to Conservation. ExecuJet MRO Services and ExecuJet Aviation Group Africa are proud to announce our pledge to sponsor the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of 20 birds every year.
