This is the shocking moment a group of secondary school students fall through the stage as it collapses beneath their feet while they were performing a traditional dance.
The video footage, filmed in the city of Aguascalientes in the central Mexican state of the same name, shows several couples in traditional clothing are seen dancing on the stage as folk music plays.
The floor is suddenly seen lifting up before the front area collapses and most of the dancers fall to the ground below.
Reports said that at least 10 students were injured when the stage flooring collapsed and were cared for by onsite paramedics.
One teenager was subsequently sent to hospital, although he was reportedly released later the same day.
The fall happened during the opening of the Expo Educacion Media 2019, an event which aims to give students about to start high school information on what to expect during their time in secondary education.
According to local media, Arts and Humanities students from the Aguascalientes High School were performing a show when the stage collapsed.
Local authorities have confirmed that they are investigating the incident and will give full support to the students involved.
The investigation is ongoing.
