Social Media Geese Marry In White Dress And Bow Tie

A goose and its animal lover owner have defied local officials in order to stage a goose wedding with the groom in a bow tie and the bride in a white dress as seen in these pictures.

The bizarre ceremony was organised by Andrei Gurin from the Belarusian capital of Minsk who said he wanted to get away from the attitude that the only thing the goose was good for was being cooked with apples or turned into pillows and to show that they could also be friends.

He started to create YouTube videos and post pictures on Instagram of his goose called Harvester, attracting thousands of followers, and he then created a page on VK, which he described as better value than Netflix, and “for all those people out there who would like to hug a goose, but who do not have one to hand”.

Earlier, Harvister and Krishna were trying to hold a wedding in Loshitsky Park. But officials are not allowed. They referred to the fact that the exit registration is carried out on the basis of the application of citizens

Once it was created fans said they thought Harvester was lonely, and needed a wife.

In order to satisfy his social media following, Andrei obliged, and together he and his friend chose homeless goose Krishna as the perfect candidate to be elevated from living on the streets into the glamorous world of social media stardom.

The wedding was organised at a fashionable local venue on Oktyabrskaya street in Minsk on Sunday, with the groom in a suit and bow tie and the bride in a white wedding dress. They even had a red carpet to march into the wedding hall in front of assembled guests, and had rings that they were each allowed to wear around their necks.

Geese Harvister and Krishna entered into legal marriage. The solemn ceremony was held on July 28 in the fashionable Hide space on the Oktyabrskaya street in Minsk

Local officials however were not amused, with Artem Zuran, deputy head of the Minsk City Executive Committee, writing to Andrei to tell him that the marriage was not recognised, as only humans could apply for the sacrament of marriage in the country. In addition, they said the applicants needed to be officially recognised as citizens.

He said that both the bride and groom “do not comply with Article 12 of the Belarus Code on Family and Marriage, adding that marriage is a voluntary union of a man and a woman, which is subject to the conditions provided for by this Code and generates mutual rights and obligations for the parties.”

However Andrei remained defiant, and posted pictures of the geese’s big day online where they were well received by his growing number of fans.
