This is the moment six pupils film themselves staging a dangerous “flare war” inside a school classroom as they fire the live flares at each other.
The incident took place at Governor Jose Cubas Secondary School in the town of San Isidro, in Catamarca province, northern Argentina, last week, but the footage emerged online on 16th March.
The video shows the students dividing into two groups of three before lighting red and green flares and pointing them at each other across the room.
Some of the flares visibly struck the students’ clothing, while others ducked behind desks for cover as smoke filled the air.
The clip was filmed by a fellow student at they were not any teachers present in the classroom.
None of the six students involved was reported to have been injured.
The reckless stunt quickly went viral online, with many warning it could have ended in serious injuries or even a fire.
Viewers were quick to condemn the students’ actions, questioning how fireworks were brought into the school in the first place.
However, others reacted more lightheartedly, jokingly comparing the scene to “Hogwarts,” the fictional wizarding school from Harry Potter.
The school and the provincial Ministry of Education are reportedly expected to review the footage to establish how the flares were brought into the building and determine what action would be taken against those involved.
