Rescuers Demand Punishment For ‘Barbarian’ Who Threw Helpless Puppies Into Gorge

This is the moment a badly-injured puppy is pulled from a rubbish-filled cave after reportedly being hurled into a 65-foot-deep gorge along with other pups, none of which survived.

Footage shows the tiny animal in the arms of a rescuer from the Chiron team after they carefully removed it from the cave on Pelion Mountain in Greece, known as the homeland of the Centaurs in Greek mythology.

Rescue team member Markos Vaxevanopoulos said in a 30th November online post. “Some barbarian filled the ravine with rubbish and threw puppies from a height of 20 metres [65.6 feet].”

The group said that only one found alive at the time and that it managed to cling on by landing on the bags.

Sadly, the pup died before it could be adopted after what its rescuers described as a heroic struggle “after days without food or water”.

Markos said the team “confronted with horror” when they discovered the animals.

He has now published an online plea to help him “find the barbarian who did this” so that they do not go “unpunished”.

Markos then addressed the perpetrator, adding. “We will search everywhere and we will find you.”
