This is the moment a python is filmed relaxing on a quay by the water in Singapore.
The footage was filmed at Boat Quay in the city state of Singapore, in Southeast Asia, by a woman who spotted the large reptile by the river, calmly slithering along some railings on Wednesday 15th December at around 7.45pm.
The woman, who has been named by local media outlet Mothership as Lorie Ordiales, was reportedly walking her dog when she noticed something moving in the railings.
A closer look indicated that the movement was caused by a large python.
Ordiales shared footage and photographs of the large reptile to Facebook group Singapore Wildlife Sightings, and the images quickly made the rounds on social media.
Ordiales said that she was not all that surprised by the encounter, stating that it was the second time that she had seen a python at Boat Quay.
The other passersby, however, were apparently not used to seeing such a large snake, and they jokingly asked Ordiales if it was her pet, according to Mothership.
Netizens commented that it made sense that a snake would be in that location, as there are “a lot of rats” in the area.
The snake was identified as a reticulated python (Malayopython reticulatus). It is currently unclear if the authorities were called to remove it.
