Playful Cat Toys With Parkinson Disease Woman Owner

This is the touching moment a relaxing cat uses its paws to first play with a woman Parkinson’s disease sufferer before eventually allowing her to pet it.

The woman, identified only as 55-year-old Txus, was born in the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz in the northern Spanish region of the Basque Country.

The video filmed by her daughter shows her trying to stroke her pet cat named Mimo, but because her hands are shaking it thinks she is playing.

At the end of the clip, the cat allows the woman to tenderly touch its paw.

The video was accompanied with the message: “My mum’s hands shake a lot because of Parkinson’s. Every time she tries to touch Mimo, he thinks she is being playful because of the erratic movement.

“Today, at long last, Mimo kept his paw still so she could touch it. They gave each other their hand and it made me emotional.”

Txus, who needs to use a wheelchair due to her condition, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 11 years ago.

Her daughter said: “Every day gets a little bit worse. She already has to use a wheelchair and it already affects her speech and balance.”

Parkinson’s disease is a long-term degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that mainly affects the motor system.

Netizen ‘AliceGould34’ commented: ‘What a touching moment, magical and emotional. Animals can often understand us better than most people.”
