A multimillionaire petrol head who in the past has been seen driving at 320 kph and is the heir to a Bosnian fuel empire has been jailed for speeding again, this time on an icy road in his luxury Audi A8.
The latest incident that saw him jailed occurred on the road between the town of Sid and the capital city of Belgrade in Serbia, when the 34-year-old man identified as Marinko Zovko decided to push his luxury Audi to the limit. Zovko, one of the richest people in Bosnia, was stopped by a patrol car near the city of Sremska Mitrovica and arrested for driving at 245 kph (152 mph) in his Audi A8.
A judge has reportedly sentenced him to 30 days in prison, along with a fine of 120,000 RSD (915 GBP) and suspending his driving licence for nine months.
Marinko is well known to the police in the region for his high-speed antics on motorways and he often films his high-speed escapades.
He became famous in 2006 when he apparently drove 191 kilometres (118 miles) in 28 minutes in his Mercedes Benz.
All the police in the region know him well as in the past 15 years he has committed a huge number of serous traffic offences.
In the video, he can be seen filming himself driving at high speed down a motorway before he is pulled over by the cops.
A video shared on YouTube in 2006 shows the shocking speed of 320 kph (198 mph) on a motorway while he travels in a car with another male passenger.
Another video where his face is not seen seemingly shows the speedometer reaching 256 kph (159 mph).
Marinko Zovko is the son of Ivica Zovko, dubbed Bosnia’s ‘King of Petrol’, and is the heir of the Zovko corporation which owns 15 companies.
Netizen ‘Gothra Vatra’ commented: “Come to Norway and drive like that!”
