This is the moment fish are spotted swimming around on a flooded intensive care unit as medics manage to catch one of the creatures and put it in a bag during ongoing monsoon rains.
Local said it was bad enough when they saw water flooding into the floors of the wards in the hospital in Patna, which is the capital city of India’s Bihar state.
Video footage shot at the Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH) shows medics holding up one fish in a bag, and in other footage shows a fish swimming around the floor, and another being pinned to the ground under a piece of plastic.
Local media said it was shot in the hospital’s intensive care unit where the water was knee deep after the first rains of the monsoon season.
A hospital spokesman confirmed that the flooding affected the ICU ward, as seen in the pictures, and added that had also gone into the pharmacy although it had been quickly cleared from there.
It was not revealed what happened to the fish that was captured in shown to be still alive in water in the hands of medics.
The monsoon season is expected to continue for the remainder of the week, meaning no let up on the flooding, and meteorologist have warned that not just Bihar, but also Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand through to Assam will also experience heavy rains in the coming days.
