This is the moment a cheeky parakeet lands in front of a motorway traffic camera and appears to tap the glass to get the watchers’ attention.
The incident happened on BR-381 in Carmo da Cachoeira, a city in the southern part of Minas Gerais state in Brazil, on 28th August.
The bird perched directly in front of the camera and at one stage blocked the entire view with its feathers.
Footage shows it poking its head against the glass as if trying to climb inside and then pecking at the lens.
The curious parakeet completely takes over the live feed and looks as though it is performing for the motorway watcher audience.
Officials later shared the clip, which has amused viewers online.
This was not the first time that Arteris Fernao Dias, the concessionaire that manages the highway, recorded such antics and they admitted it was unclear why birds were so fascinated by the mounted recording devices.
