This is the horrifying moment two friends are zapped by a powerful electric shock that makes their feet light up as they try to shoo birds away from a high-voltage cable with a metal pole.
Video footage obtained by Newsflash shows the pair stalking a bird as it perches on the overhead cable outside a cafe in the municipality of Kepez, Antalya, Turkey.
One of the men – not named by police – picks up a long metal pole and walks towards the power line.
As his friend joins him he also grabs the pole as they hoist it up to apparently whack the bird, as the CCTV footage filmed on 9th April shows.
Then – as they touch the cable with the pole – they drop to the ground from a massive electric shock as power tries to earth itself.
The shock is so powerful that sparks can be seen flying from the soles of their trainers before they fall down.
As the footage ends the pair can be seen still twitching from the massive shock.
Police have not given any details on their condition which local media describes as ‘serious.’
