This is the moment a passerby lashes out at a stray cat cared for by local shopkeepers, kicking the animal into the air before walking calmly on down the street as if nothing had happened.

CCTV footage of the scene shows the incident in the district of Ilkadim, in the Turkish province of Samsun, on 15th July.
The video shows the cat sitting on the footrest of a scooter in the Derebahce neighbourhood when it gets up and steps down onto the pavement as the vehicle’s owner approaches.
A man walking along the pavement then strides up and boots it without warning. The cat is sent flying about a metre into the air before landing and darting away.
Moments later, people who had seen the attack rushed out of a nearby kiosk to confront the man.
After a brief exchange, the man simply carried on walking as if nothing had happened, with outraged locals gathering on the pavement.
The cat was said to be a stray that traders in the area had taken under their wing and were feeding and caring for in the neighbourhood.

Once the CCTV footage began circulating, residents and shopkeepers in the area voiced their anger at the attack and called for the person responsible to be identified and held to account.
The identity of the man in the footage has not been released and it is currently unclear if the police have launched an investigation.
