Nurse Recognises Her Burglar When He Turns Up At A And E

A nurse has recognised the burglar she encountered 15 days earlier when the suspect showed up at the emergencies with an injured finger.

The incident took place in the eastern French city of Besancon, near the border with Switzerland, after the suspected burglar was admitted to the hospital with a finger injury.

After the unnamed nurse identified the female suspect, she was reportedly arrested and taken into custody.

Reports said the police found the victim’s phone in the suspect’s bag.

According to local media, the robbery took place on the night of 3rd and 4th April and the nurse was woken up by the noise coming from her living room.

When she went to check, she encountered a strange woman rummaging through her belongings, according to reports.

The nurse began to scream and the intruder fled the home. The victim later realised that her phone had been taken.

According to the reports, the suspect told the police during questioning that she was spending the night at a friend’s house, but entered the wrong property while under the influence of alcohol.

On the night of the robbery, she left a bottle of rum at the scene and she also claimed that she tried to explain the situation to the victim, according to local media.

The nurse’s phone has been returned to her and the public prosecutor’s office has since released the suspect.

It is unclear whether the local authorities will charge the woman for burglary.
