Mystery As Hundreds Of Dead Ravens Fall Out Of The Sky

This footage shows hundreds of ravens that reportedly fell out of the sky and left the streets strewn with little black corpses.

The incident took place in the village of Ust-Tarka in the Russian region of Novosibirsk Oblast in south-western Siberia.

Sergei Kuzlyakin, chief physician of the Ust-Tarksk veterinary department, told local media that tests have been carried out to establish the cause of the mass bird death.

He noted that other birds and animals had apparently not been harmed, only the ravens.

He added that the bodies have been sent to Novosibirsk to be analysed in a bid to find out what happened, but he suspected that the common ravens (Corvus corax) had been poisoned.

He said: “Most likely we are talking about poisoning. But what the birds were poisoned with is also not clear yet, the results of the study will help to determine this too.”

It is estimated that there were about 300 to 400 dead crows that appeared on the village’s streets overnight. Huge flocks of crows had reportedly flown over the area but have since disappeared, leaving only their scattered corpses on the streets.

The investigation continues.
