The piglet was born last Thursday along with eight other piglets, local media report.

Ruben Pereira, the owner of the farm where the animal was born, told local newspaper El Observador that despite animals which are born with additional limbs usually having serious health issues, the piglet is still alive and is in a healthy condition.

Local media report Pereira thought of taking the piglet to the vet when it was first born but as the animal can walk and feed properly he decided the trip to the vet was not necessary.

Pereira and the co-owner of the piglet, named in reports as Estela, told reporters: “We have never seen anything similar to this.” They added that they would take the piglet to the vet soon in order for it to be checked out.
