Moment Poor Devour Huge Cake For Indian Politician

This is the moment fans of an Indian politician could not wait for the official celebrations to get underway and pounced on a huge birthday cake which vanished in minutes.

The party was organised for the president of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Kumari Mayawati who was born on 15th January and is 63 years old.

Supporters looted the cake placed on stage to celebrate Chief Mayawati 63rd birthday in Amroh

She is a campaigner for social change in particular a campaigner for the rights of the country’s poor, having herself come from a humble background.

So it was clear that many of the poor that she tried to help would turn up at her party, and this celebration organised in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha included an impressive 63-kilogram (139-lb) cake.

But rather than lining up to each take a slice, there was a mass stampede after one person grabbed a chunk, resulting in the cake vanishing in minutes.

Mayawati was the first female chief minister in India responsible for the scheduled castes, leaving her to be worshipped by millions of Dalits for whom she also regularly raises funds.

But at the same time her personal wealth and that of her party have also drawn criticism.
