Moment Angry Tiger Sinks Teeth Into Lioness During Zoo Enclosure Fight

This is the gruesome moment a lioness struggles to defend herself against a tiger that bites her on the head and leaves her with a bloodied ear while horrified zoogoers film the fight.

Video shared online on 27th October shows the Siberian tiger and African lioness tussling inside the same enclosure as the big cats claw and bite each other at the Wannan Wildlife Zoo in Xuancheng, Anhui Province, China.

The lioness’s head appears bloodied during the scuffle.

Zoo staff said both animals were born at the park in 2024 and had been raised together since birth.

They explained that the tiger and the lion usually have a companion-like relationship and claimed they were just “playing around”.

Following the clash, the lioness suffered an injury to her ear, but staff assured that the wound has already scabbed over and that her appetite, behaviour. And overall condition remain normal.

Both animals have since been separated and are now on display in different areas of the zoo.

The Siberian tiger is the largest tiger species in the world and is renowned for its power and strength.

Also known as the Amur tiger, this endangered big cat primarily inhabits the harsh, remote regions of Russia and parts of China. With only around 500 individuals estimated to remain in the wild.
