This is the moment an elderly man with two amputated arms carries a 6.5-ft cobra that had just bitten him home to get it identified and a proper antidote administered.
The incident unfolded in Dai Loc Commune, in the city of Da Nang, in Vietnam, on the morning of 15th March.
Video shows the elderly man, identified only by his initials N.V.T., walking with the enormous snake pinned tight against his body with his half-arm and the snake’s lower half dragging along the ground behind him.
A bystander filming the scene can be heard repeatedly telling him to drop the snake, but the man did not stop and continued walking.
Only after reaching his home did he inform his family members, who rushed him to the Northern Mountainous Regional General Hospital in Quang Nam province.
He was later transferred to Da Nang General Hospital for specialist treatment.
Da Nang General Hospital confirmed on 16th March that N.V.T. was in their care.
The cobra, measuring approximately two metres (6.5 feet) in length, was also confirmed dead.

Reports state that he kept hold of the snake so that doctors could identify the exact species and administer the correct antivenom.
The 79-year-old is now in a stable condition and remains under close medical observation.
