This astonishing footage shows a fearless man who has raised more than 20 wolves playfighting with the beasts he has kept as pets.
One piece of footage shows the man, who calls himself ‘Wolf King Lao Zheng’ on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, shows him wielding a stick as the wolves playfully circle him at his rural property in Bayannur, in the vast Inner Mongolia region of China.
Another clip, uploaded on 30th November, shows him on horseback, teasing the wolves as they leap and chase around him.
Lao, who says he is 54 years old in his online profile, says he has raised over 20 prairie wolves after he began rescuing wild animals he either found injured or abandoned.
Remarkably, Lao used to be afraid even of dogs but says he has learnt over time how gentle and smart their carnivorous cousins can be.
Another clip from 4th December shows Lao boldly teasing a wolf while it eats a slab of raw meat, even pretending like he wants to steal the food from the animal as he stands just inches from it.
At one point he even kicks the meat away but incredibly, the animal, although displeased, does nothing to harm Lao apart from growling at him.
Another wolf then comes in, snatches the fleshy chunk, and even allows Lao to pet it on the head before it makes off with the meal.
Speaking about his unique experience, Lao says: “I used to be afraid of dogs, but after getting to know wolves, I realised they are loyal and grateful animals.”
