Man Kills 10yo Child And Family In Murder Suicide

A taxi driver father has committed suicide after shooting six of his family members dead – including a ten-year-old child – and being cornered by cops.

The shocking incident took place in the capital city of Zagreb in northwest Croatia where three women, two men and a child were reportedly killed by Igor Nadj, a taxi driver.

Local media report the three women, one of whom is said to have been Nadj’s ex-wife, and the boy were killed in front of a house while the two men were murdered inside.

Two of the women have been identified as sisters Maja, 34, and Josipa T. while reports suggest the boy who was killed was most probably Maja’s son.

A seven-month-old baby, believed to be the killer’s, was found unharmed at the scene and the taxi driver reportedly drove away from the scene in his Skoda Octavia. He was found by cops in an abandoned building not far from Zagreb where he reportedly killed himself when the police were ready to arrest him.

According to local media it is possible that the man killed the family members out of jealousy but the motive remains unclear.

A witness told local media: “I was on the balcony when I heard the shots. They were most probably from a gun, but then a female moaning was heard.”

The Mayor of Zagreb Milan Bandic described the attack as an “isolated incident”.

The investigation is ongoing.
