Man Banned From Gym After Mocking Overweight Woman

A gym client has been banned from the facility for mocking an overweight woman working out next to him on social media.

The incident took place at a SmartFit gym in Mexico when an Instagram user named ‘superjon112’, whose account has now been deleted, appeared to an insult another gym user on the social media platform.

The man shared the pictures of the woman, who was identified as Paulina Rodriguez, using one of the machines in the gym along with the caption “today I came here to do my best” along with a ‘sticker’ of a potato doing exercise.

He then shared another image of the woman walking up the gym stairs with the caption “enough gym for today, let’s get out of here” along with a pig ‘sticker’.

One of his followers took a screen of the posts and shared them on social media where they received more than 116,000 likes and 13,000 comments.

‘raccoon2169’ commented: “What a bad thing to mock the lady. He should be cheering her on because she is doing something to try to improve her health by losing weight. I am proud of her”.

Many netizens called for the gym to react to the incident and they then released a press statement saying they had decided to expel the client immediately, with him not being allowed to return.

The woman in the photos reacted with her own post, taking a selfie in the gym with the caption: “Here you go, for the guy who wanted a picture of me in the gym, sorry for the face but I come here to do exercise, not to judge others.

“I am surprised by the reaction my answer to the aggression I received by Juan Fuentes (the Instagram user) has caused. It has served as motivation for me not to be scared of a person like this, I feel more committed to achieving my goal, of losing weight and having a healthy life”.

She has even received offers from companies in the health field, such as ‘Carlos Haros’ who commented: “At CyH Nutricion we will give her three months of nutrition advice for free”.
