This lorry driver has died in a traffic accident in northern Spain after promising his wife and son, also pictured, that it would be his last long-distance driving job.
According to reports, Nicu Demian and his family, originally from Romania, were living in the south-eastern Spanish city of Murcia where the road victim was employed as a lorry driver.
However, he was reportedly killed in an accident in Capmany in the north-eastern Spanish region of Catalonia after promising his family that it would be his last assignment before quitting the job.
His sudden death shocked his family and wife Veronica announced the news on social media, adding that he promised his son Nico Louis that this would be his final trip.
In the heartbreaking post, Veronica said: “Nicu, you left us with enormous pain in our souls. We love you from the bottom of our hearts.
“Nico Luis did not want to let you go on this trip. He was holding your hand and telling you not to go. Then you promised him that it would be your last one, but now you will never come home again.
“We love you and you always remain in our souls, Nicu.”
The 49-year-old man’s body will be returned to Romania so that he can be buried in his home village of f Sisesti in the northern Romanian county of Maramures.
