Leo DiCaprios Ex Bar Refaeli Fury Over Family Tax Snub

Supermodel Bar Refaeli has slammed a court for denying she lived as a ‘family’unit’ in the US with ex-BF Leonardo DiCaprio when they were not married – and instead demanding she pay 1.7 GBP million tax to Israel for this time.

Officials say the Israeli model has dodged taxes worth of 8 million ILS (1.7 million GBP) between 2009 and 2010.

However, Refaeli claims that she lived with her then-boyfriend DiCaprio at his mansion in Los Angeles, as a ‘family unit’ and thus is not liable for the cash.

However, the court  dismissed the claim that they lived together as a full-time family unit in the US and claimed that she had received treatment under Israel’s national health fund during this time.

In her appeal today (Thurs) Refaeli said that the court held an ‘over-conservative’ definition of family which is no longer relevant in modern day relationships.

The appeal also claimed that she was a foreign resident in 2009-2010 and was therefore not liable for tax in Israel.

Refaeli and DiCaprio dated on and off from 2005 to 2011 but they did not marry.

The 34-year-old is currently married to Israeli businessman Adi Ezra and together they have two daughters.

She was the co-host for the Eurovision song contest in 2019 which took place in Jerusalem.
