This is the moment an officer of the Spanish cop rescues a distressed fox caught in fence wire before the animal is freed and hightails it up a hill.
The video was captured in the municipality of Alcala de Guadaíra, in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia.
The video was shared on the official Twitter page of the Civil Guard with the post: “This animal is famous for its astuteness, but in this case, it could not avoid getting caught.”
“Thanks to the collaboration of the public, who notified the Civil Guard of Alcala de Guadaira, an on-duty patrol were able to liberate it.”
The video, which has been seen 32,700 times, shows the fox being held down by its neck with an animal control pole as the office is bent down the other side of the fence where it is stuck underneath.
The fox tries to struggle out of his grip on various occasions while the officer woks to untangle the animal from the wire which it has got caught up in.
After freeing it, the officer can be heard telling his colleague holding the pole to “let him go.”
As soon as the fox is released it can be seen shooting backwards and running incredibly fast up the hill.
Social media users commented on the video thanking the officers for their good work.
Some of them even commented humorously on the speed of the fox, such as social media user ‘Javier GP’ who wrote: “Did you not have your radar at hand? He exceeded speed limits for sure!”
